Artists in Aix en Provence : contemporary art - bronze - traditional oil painting and reproductions

Patrice Mérot   Patrice Mérot
Painter - Artiste peintre
With a particular sensitivity for "Hyper Dynamism", Mérot touches all themes on mouvements and sparkels : sports, speed, winds and storms, waves, reflections. Always using bright colors from his long living experience in Africa and Asia, where light is very bright and shadows are very sharp, he draws the light with a white twinkle which underlines the colored spots which may represent fixed precious stones on their metal frame.
With a technic of dripping paint the artist rarely uses paint bruches. Dripping water could be assimilated to this style of painting as if one would be pouring water down a sleek wall and watch the liquid irregularly slide downward.

Jacques Mandelbrojt

Jacques Mandelbrojt
Painter - Artiste peintre
Effervescence ... images spraying from a non-stop kaleidoscope ....
Let’s leaf through drawings, gouaches, and watercolors that flow from his brush like molten steel from a furnace... fluid contours - hard core.
“Let us not forget it, their space is brimstone, immeasurable, unstable, in constant mutation, multiple, tumultuous, yet orderly : a place that isn’t.” wrote the poet Imre Pan in number 69 of "Signs and Morphemes". Whether in variations on a sketch by Rubens, abstract shapes linked right across a canvas, or even his series of paintings in which each one anticipates the next, Lucie Prof’homme’s quadraphonic accompaniment invites visitors to a simultaneous experience of music and Jacques Mandelbrojt’s poetry. A unique irreversible experiences.

Gérard Franquin   Gérard Franquin
Painter - Artiste peintre
Uses a procedure of folding the canvas revealing a new equation or “invention” as though the work itself had become self-generative, an “emergence” comparable to that of certain theoretical evolutionists. This leads to an ongoing dialogue between the artist and his medium which can turn into a “fight to the finish” of bi-lateral symmetry.

Hervé Di Rosa

Hervé Di Rosa
Painter - Artiste peintre

"The painter's bliss? And this is how inquisitive Di Rosa, brothely Di Rosa, who, when he was twenty-two had already intitled one of his programmatic paintings "À travers le monde", continues to enrich our treasure maps, one step after another wit a brushstroke at a time." Jean Rouaud, July 2000

Hervé Nodé-Langlois

Hervé Nodé-Langlois

He divides his time between his painting studio in Venelles-le-haut and painting on the motif, mostly in Provence and Brittany, the West Indies. His work consists of oil on canvas which represents local vineyards, bastides, seascapes, portraits, still lifes and very interesting reproductions of celebrated artists such as Cézanne, Van Gogh, Derain, Matisse, Marquet…and many more.
